The Studies and Economic Media Center issued a position paper on Yemen's peace negotiations and the scenarios of economic resolution considering the country’ current development, to move towards a comprehensive peace agreement in accordance with the road map announced by the UN special envoy, Hans Grundberg, on December 23, 2023.

The paper reviewed the negotiating position between the parties to the conflict following Omani-brokered closed discussions between the Saudi Arabia and the Houthi group (Ansar Allah) over the past months. Resulting in mutual visits between Sana'a and Riyadh to create constructive negotiation environment. The economic and humanitarian dossiers are the main points of the talks over the past months between the parties, in the absence of the IRG of Yemen engaging directly in these negotiations, as it is likely to be invited to sign the agreement following the completion of the Omani-mediated road map developed by the Saudis and Houthis.

The content of the paper was focused on three scenarios of economic solutions that could be used in the light of the complexities on the ground and the mutual economic war between the two parties since the relocation of CBY to Aden in September 2016, and the subsequent escalatory steps that had adversely affected citizens' lives.

The Yemenis are awaiting the announcement of Yemen's conflicting parties to reach an agreement in accordance with the road map, announced by the UN special envoy, under which employees' salaries will be repaid, oil will be re-exported and all closed roads, will be reopened, in the main cities since the outbreak of the armed conflict in March 2015.
